About The Position
The Infection Prevention Data System Coordinator (IPDSC) coordinates the process of providing accurate and timely data to the appropriate entities involved in the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and the reimbursement programs requiring this mandatory data reporting. The IPDSC oversees all aspects of data collection through EPIC, NHSN and other systems, ensures the presence of supporting documentation and provides staff education to ensure compliance with NHSN guidelines. The IDPSC role is responsible for monitoring patient charts for correct coding, report validation in Epic, electronically transmitting data in a timely manner and communicating with a multidisciplinary team to create and carry out mandatory and Healthcare system analytics and reporting. This position is responsible for monitoring compliance with changing NHSN, State and Federal law and for clinical data collection, entry, transmission and analysis to ensure compliance with the requirements of NHSN, bundled payment and value based purchasing (among others). Although the focus of this position is on advanced data analytics, additional responsibilities may include staff education, presentations, research studies and participation with appropriate Infection Prevention duties.
