The IndySoft Configuration & Support Specialist will be responsible for managing our IndySoft calibration management software, ensuring that it is functioning at optimal levels, and improving it to meet the growing needs of our organization. They will be responsible for configuring, implementing changes, and supporting the IndySoft application at Transcat.

  • Configure and implement new features and functionality within our IndySoft environment in a manner that is both scalable and maintainable
  • Integrate separate lab locations into one central IndySoft system, including data migration
  • Provide exceptional technical support to Transcat's IndySoft users of varying skill levels via phone, email, and our internal ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot IndySoft and related software issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions specific to Transcat's workflows
  • Collaborate with Transcat's internal teams (IT, Service Operations, Sales, and Finance) to understand and address IndySoft-related challenges, and test functionality
  • Research and escalate complex technical issues
  • Document solutions and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base specific to Transcat's IndySoft usage
  • Stay up to date on the latest IndySoft training, software releases, and industry trends relevant to Transcat's operations, and provide training to Transcat employees
  • Load IndySoft-related software packages and business applicable programs into our software portal and install software onto computers (e.g., Tech Sync, Web Tier Tools)
  • Collaborate with the Transcat IT Helpdesk to maintain IndySoft-related hardware, peripherals, and environmental monitoring devices
  • Track and communicate software changes between releases and updates
  • Additional tasks as required to ensure IndySoft functionality and reliability
  • Model the Company’s values to influence others to perform in an aligned manner
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrated ability to design, configure, implement, and maintain software applications
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for providing exceptional customer service
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users
  • Ability to travel to our international network of locations (< 50% total travel)
  • Ability to provide occasional after-hours support to perform software upgrades and deploy new configurations, minimizing downtime and disruption to laboratory operations
  • 5 years of experience working in calibration laboratory operations
  • 2 years of experience with IndySoft software usage, configuration and implementation, and creating IndySoft reports
  • Experience with database administration and SQL queries
  • Experience with IndySoft scripting, preferred
  • Associate’s degree or higher in a technical field, preferred
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 17025) and calibration automation software applications (e.g., Fluke MET/CAL, MET/CONNECT), preferred
  • Experience with ticketing systems and knowledge base management tools, preferred
  • Experience in technical support or a related field, preferred
