About The Position

Join CWI as a Part-Time EMS Skills Instructor and help prepare the next generation of EMTs for success. In this hands-on teaching role, you’ll support our lead instructor by guiding students through essential emergency medical skills, facilitating lab practice, and evaluating competencies aligned with NREMT standards. You’ll deliver student-centered instruction, use current equipment and technology, foster an engaging learning environment, and motivate learners to excel. Why Join CWI? Requirements

  • EMT experience acquired by at least 1 to 5 years full time work experience in EMS
  • EMT certification above the level of the students being evaluated
  • CPR Healthcare Provider certificate
  • Ability to teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs (up to 19.5 hours per week)
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, group activities, individual instruction, distance learning and teaching with technology
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodology. Train the trainer, teaching training course or equivalent. Can be provided upon employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience teaching or providing EMT student skills evaluation for the NREMT practical exam preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver High-Quality, Student-Centered EMS Instruction
  • Teach approved course content and skills in alignment with the syllabus and program standards.
  • Provide engaging individual and group instruction, supervising students during skills labs and facilitating hands-on learning.
  • Motivate students to actively participate and succeed throughout the educational process.
  • Support Skill Development and NREMT Exam Readiness
  • Assist the lead instructor in guiding students through essential emergency medical skills required for program completion and NREMT preparation.
  • Evaluate student learning through written, oral, practical, and performance assessments, ensuring alignment between instruction and evaluation.
  • Maintain Instructional Excellence and Professional Expertise
  • Prepare and update instructional materials, equipment, and technology to support effective learning.
  • Maintain current expertise in EMS subject matter and uphold clear expectations in classroom and lab settings.
