The Industry Strategy Manager for Cat Solutions/Job Site Solutions (JSS) leads the continuous identification, evolution, refinement and expansion of Solutions capabilities and structures needed to innovate, compete, and serve the unique industry characteristics and applications. This globally focused role supports JSS Commercial Managers around the world with the integration of the capabilities and structures that create and capture customer value and significantly grow pipeline and sales of solutions that optimize customers’ fleet, equipment, and operational activities that deliver outcomes for customers in the industry globally. This role identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes potential regions, customers, and projects, and develops customizable and standard solutions elements to efficiently grow potential customer base and compete effectively.

Requirements

  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the construction or mining industry , trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. A passion for continued learning about industries and the challenges related to the customers we serve.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the enterprise.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with enterprise partners, clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
  • Strong project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, Engineering.
  • Knowledge of construction industry segments, aftermarket, customer value agreements, and industry growth targets.
  • Strong background in machine lifecycle management and maintenance strategies.
  • Familiarity with application of machines.
  • Familiarity with different functional areas of the enterprise including but no limited to DSD, CFSC, Product groups, and sales & marketing groups.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating deeply throughout the world with internal Industry partners, Product Groups, Cat Fi, Business Resources, Cat legal, and other key departments to identify and create tailored Solutions capabilities and structures.
  • Collaborating with JSS Commercial and Account Managers to gather, evaluate, and consolidate market/industry trends, customer requirements, and competitive intelligence.
  • Identifying and integrating existing and new technology into Solutions that drive differentiation, innovation, and efficiency.
  • Developing creative ownership and funding models that address and grow industry opportunities and capture customer value.
  • Developing creative and competitive industry-specific risk strategies and methodologies that create significant customer value AND effectively manage Cat and Dealer exposure.
  • Developing, piloting, and replicating standard offerings based on industry/customer-specific requirements.
  • Supporting account-specific solutions design for Managed Accounts.
  • Supporting team TCV goals at the account level and dealer/district level that meet or exceed OPACC and risk profile targets.
