Blackstone Credit & Insurance (“BXCI”)- Liquid Credit Strategies (“LCS”) Research, Associate Employer: Blackstone Business Unit: Blackstone Credit & Insurance The Liquid Credit Strategies Team (“LCS”) manages a diversified portfolio of fixed income investments, primarily consisting of senior secured floating rate bank loans and high yield bonds of non-investment grade companies. The group manages and sub-advises 166 funds accounts in US and Europe, including Collateralized Loan Obligations, Separately Managed Accounts, Commingled Funds, Closed End Funds and Business Development Companies. LCS also invests in the debt and equity tranches of CLOs. Job Title: Industry Credit Research Associate Job Description: The LCS credit analyst is an integral part of the investment team. The credit analyst will conduct fundamental credit analysis to identify attractive investment ideas and proactively communicate recommendations to Portfolio Managers. The credit analyst will enhance both quantitative and qualitative skills through the investment process and will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of industries and investment types. As a result of the breadth of the experience, the credit analyst will develop a unique understanding of companies and capital structures.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, ideally within corporate credit, public or private equity asset manager, sell-side corporate credit or equity investment research firm, or an investment bank in an advisory, capital markets or restructuring group.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new investments in the Primary and Secondary Markets performing thorough analysis of the Borrowers’ business, industry drivers, inherent credit risks, and valuation/recovery prospects.
  • Formulate a clear and concise credit view in order to persuasively communicate recommendations to the Investment Committee (including CLOs, SMAs, BDCs, and Closed End Funds) both verbally and in writing.
  • Diligently monitor companies in the assigned industry segments including through recent news, quarterly/annual earnings announcements, ratings changes, and legal requests.
  • Update financial models for the assigned portfolio companies on a quarterly basis.
