About The Position

Started in 1988 as an architectural sheet metal job shop, Oertel Metal Works has grown to be an expert in the custom metal fabrication industry. Oertel Metalworks is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Industrial Worker – CNC Machine Operator based out of Davenport, Iowa. The Industrial Worker - CNC Machine Operator is responsible for assisting the maintenance and operations managers with various steps in CNC Machining and helping to maintain and operate machines. This could include operating a fork truck, moving materials, setting up or operating various equipment, assisting with shipping/receiving & assembly, maintaining safety and cleanliness, or other shop tasks. What makes you successful in this position: A current, valid drivers license Experience with CNC Machining, laser/plasmas, power tools, reading/using measuring devices Previous work experience working with your hands and physical labor Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and think of yourself as mechanically inclined This position works Sunday through Thursday from 9:30pm to 6:00am each day, with the option for overtime. You will be trained on first shift. Base pay starts at $24.14 while training on first shift, with a 15% shift differential once you move to 3rd shift. The length of training on 1st shift is dependent upon prior experience.
