Arcadis’ Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team is seeking a mid-level Industrial Water Process Engineer with 5+ years of consulting engineering experience to contribute to our expanding portfolio of industrial water and wastewater related design projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects Apply processes and technologies for physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation and crystallization Receive technical mentoring and guidance from a senior process engineer Delegate engineering or scientific calculations/ drawings to junior staff Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions, and Support implementation of projects from study phase through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operation and maintenance of treatment systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water/wastewater field

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field of study with focus on wastewater treatment process engineering
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Professional engineer registration in one or more states

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for a variety of industrial water projects
  • Field work will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing (at client sites or in our lab in Cary, NC), etc
  • Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staff
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings
  • Manage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis’ expectations
  • Supporting business development including proposal preparation and meetings with clients
  • Travel as needed for meetings, site visits, etc. (up to 25%)
