About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a Industrial Waste Treatment Plant Operator, to join our team in Puyallup, Washington. Operator must have at least two years of wastewater treatment operating experience. Maintain, repair, and inspect water treatment systems at the treatment plant, Includes the collection of water samples per state regulations, recording data and preparing regulatory reports, adjusting chemical feed rates, and other similar duties. Position will also be required to assist with the wastewater collection system on a regular basis. Workers in this position operate and maintain Industrial Waste Treatment Facilities and equipment. Provide industrial waste processing, treatment and disposal, adhering to federal, state, county and Boeing regulations. Perform analysis of influent/effluent flows of waste liquids, to ensure safe (PH) potentials of hydrogen and heavy metal levels are maintained. Respond to environmental hazard spills, working closely with Boeing and outside agencies emergency response units. This position requires occasional climbing/balancing, finger manipulation, flexion/extension, handling, rotation of head/neck, sitting, standing, walking, frequent contact with alkalis, occasional contact with acids, occasional exposure to atmospheric conditions, noise frequent use of face/eye protection, protective footwear, occasional use of hand/arm protection, hearing protection. Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs. Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting. Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants. Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards. Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions. Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Requirements

  • 2+ Years experience with chemical process management, waste water, storm water, water quality, and/or hazardous waste
  • 2+ Years experience performing analysis of influent/effluent flows of waste liquids, to ensure safe (PH) potentials of hydrogen and heavy metal levels are maintained
  • 2+ Years experience with acid/base solution storage and transfer processes
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
  • “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
