This is a role within Systems' Manufacturing and Production group. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) correctly read and interpret shop orders for correct paint color and options, and (ii) Utilize airless and/or conventional spray equipment for application of paints, lacquers, or enamels to metal surface where medium quality finish is required, may work with more complex product across multiple paint booths; ensure work assignments pass process checks and final inspection;.

Requirements

  • 1+ year spray painting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Can demonstrate paint proficiency across Systems' products
  • Must adhere to all safety rules and requirements, including proper use and fit of respirators and other personal protective equipment. This may include maintaining a clean-shaven face at all times due to OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Correctly read and interpret shop orders for correct paint color and options
  • Utilize airless and/or conventional spray equipment for application of paints, lacquers, or enamels to metal surface where medium quality finish is required, may work with more complex product across multiple paint booths; ensure work assignments pass process checks and final inspection;
  • Mentor and help train entry level painters
  • Maintain and keep equipment and area in a safe, clean condition and working order
  • Utilize automated or manual monorail for moving product in and out of paint booth
  • Clean and maintain, on a daily basis, equipment used in the paint booth
  • Utilize hoist, cranes, and lift tables
  • Prepare surfaces for painting as required by cleaning or other methods as required
  • Comply with all company environmental policy
  • May do masking and two-toning and operate drying equipment
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s and Systems’ reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
