About The Position

The Industrial Specialist (General) position within the Department of Defense involves reviewing contracts, assessing contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) requirements. The role is critical in developing surveillance plans and conducting capability reviews of potential contractors to ensure they meet the necessary standards for production and delivery.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in reviewing/analyzing contractor performance, plans, schedules, and industrial processes.
  • Education substitution: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in related fields.
  • Combination of education and experience may also qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts to identify technical requirements and develop necessary tasks for surveillance plans.
  • Identify frequency and intensity of production surveillance required for assigned contracts.
  • Assess correction validity and proposed labor/material costs to confirm coverage by the contract.
  • Ensure contractors' understanding of and compliance with DPAS requirements.
  • Conduct formal and informal Pre-Award Surveys and capability reviews of potential contractors.
