Industrial Service Tech - Northwest Ohio
About The Position
East Penn Mfg., a world class leader in automotive battery manufacturing is expanding our service network and has an Industrial Service Technician position open in Northwestern Ohio at our Tri-City subsidiary. This field technician role requires daily travel to the customers within your Northwestern Ohio territory and occasional travel to our Miamisburg, OH facility to restock parts and supplies for your service vehicle. You will be assigned a company service vehicle for use during work assignments and customer visits. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, works well independently, and has a customer focused mindset. Starting hourly wage between $20.00-$24.00 or more depending on industry experience. Pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
Requirements
- Mechanical ability.
- Electrical background, AC/DC preferred with basic knowledge of 240V three phase and 480V three phase.
- Strong communication skills and self motivation.
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

- Ideal candidate currently resides in the Geater Lima, Findley, or Van Wert Ohio areas.
Responsibilities
- Communicates and works with maintenance managers, maintenance mechanics, electric truck mechanics, electricians, contractors, and East Penn Manufacturing's salespeople.
- Dealing with customer complaints and down equipment.
- Travels to customer locations.
- Evaluates battery and charging equipment.
- Must be able to make on‑site repairs of batteries and chargers.
- Must be able to create and maintain documents explaining customer's fleet by type, amp hour, repairs, recommendations, billing, and repairs.
- Reports to Operations Manager based out of Miamisburg, OH.
- Daily travel to customer locations in Northwestern Ohio service area, which extends South to Dayton, OH and East to Columbus, OH.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Ability to work mandatory over time.
- Performs other duties as requested by Management.
- Responsible for producing a high quality product.
- Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.
