About The Position

This role will reside within the Industrial Security team within the Draper Security department to provide project and additional duty support. Assignments may include such disciplines as personnel clearances, classified information management, security auditing and inquiries, physical security, etc. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: shadowing security employees to learn their duties and responsibilities by working with security officers, industrial security specialists, and employees throughout the organization. The position will involve working on projects to improve overall security processes. This is a great opportunity for a college student to gain real-world experience in the field of Industrial Security as it pertains to classified government contracting. The Security Co-op will rotate working between multiple groups within the Security Department to ensure a base knowledge set is experienced for comprehensive professional development in all Industrial Security domains; including: PERSEC, OPSEC, PHYSEC, Counter-intelligence, Incident Investigation, Special Programs and Administrative Security. Provide assistance to the Security team, including, but not limited to, reviewing Security files, processing background investigation paperwork, security clearance processing and visitor management. There is flexibility regarding hours and program duration based on applicant’s school schedule and availability. This position can be partially hybrid remote, however being in the office, when appropriate, is an important part of this experience.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s / master’s degree program.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s / master’s degree program in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security & Intelligence, Security Management or related field
  • Willingness and ability to apply for a US Government security clearance upon acceptance of offer is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Highly motivated, interest in the fields of security operations, services, methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
  • A current or recent US Government security clearance is desired

Responsibilities

  • Co-op will rotate working between multiple groups within Department to ensure a base knowledge set is experienced for comprehensive professional development.
  • Provide assistance to a team, including, but not limited to, clerical duties, processing paperwork, customer service or performing data entry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
