About The Position

The Industrial Plumbing Steamfitter will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance and improvement of system-controlled robotics, steam systems, machine tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have at least one of the following:
  • AAS degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology
  • AOS degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance
  • Military Training Course in related field
  • 3 years work experience in a Manufacturing Facility (with references)
  • 3 years proven experience in Commercial HVAC service and installation.
  • Completion of 2 years of a Plumber/Steamfitter Apprentice Program (considered 3rd year apprentice)
  • Journeyman Steamfitter
  • Licensed NYS Plumber
  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to work off shifts and weekends
  • Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in Manufacturing Facility in a technical maintenance role
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic fundamental and safety knowledge (schematics, precision measurement tools, LOTO)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate the condition of hydraulic, steam and HVAC equipment and determine strategy to repair and rebuild
  • Own preventative maintenance, inspections and extensive repairs; diagnose problems, plan and complete work required, identify and order parts
  • Installs & repairs pipes, fixtures, and valves, for water, gas, steam, and air systems.
  • Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
  • Assembles fittings and valves for installation.
  • Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed.
  • Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary.
  • Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters.
  • Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems.
  • Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.
  • Analyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair.
  • Uses a CMMS documenting the problem and summary of actions taken.

Benefits

  • The base pay range for this position is $35.68/hr - $43.89/hr.
  • The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
  • This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases.
  • This position is eligible for a $1.00 per hour Night Shift Bonus.
  • The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
