Industrial Painter (Starship Launch Hardware)

INDUSTRIAL PAINTER (STARSHIP LAUNCH HARDWARE) RESPONSIBILITIES: Sand blast to acceptable industry standards Safely operate spray coating equipment to industrial and commercial standards Safely operate air tools, pressure feed tanks, and airless pumps Brush and roll industrial and commercial coatings Perform corrosion control on carbon steel/ stainless steel using pneumatic air tools, needle guns, and scalers Safely operate aerial platforms, forklifts, and heavy equipment Operate, clean and maintain all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc. Work with contractors daily to ensure SpaceX standards are being met
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of industrial painting experience
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
- Ability to work the following shift: Monday – Friday 6:00am – 4:30pm
- Ability to work nights & weekends when needed to meet critical launch milestones
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs.) unassisted
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand
- Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 100 feet)
- Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
- Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Travel to other sites may be required, up to 15% of the time
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years of industrial painting experience and corrosion control experience
- Experience with NACE, MSDS, and EPA regulation codes or industry standards
- Understanding of heavy equipment safety standards
- Familiarity with paint processes and applications
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Self-motivated individual able to work independently or in a team environment and willing to learn
