This facility is our Center of Excellence where our processes include fabrications, welding, machining, assembly, and paint. This is a unique opportunity for an Industrial Painter in our manufacturing facility in Waterloo, Iowa that features two state of the art paint booths. Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of work experience in an industrial environment.
  • Proficient with a variety of painting techniques and tools.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in schedules, environment, or task requirements.
  • Familiarity with different types of paint and understanding their chemical properties, with proficiency in water-based paint desired.
  • Ability to follow safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Good communication skills to read and comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information to others.
  • Fork truck experience.
  • Crane experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations as they apply to an industrial facility.
  • Possess a sense of urgency and maturity to get the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and paint the interior and exterior of industrial equipment, machinery, and other metal parts.
  • Work closely with assembly, machining, and fabrication areas.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, washing, stripping, and sanding.
  • Apply paint using spray equipment.
  • Ensure the paint job meets company standards and extends the life of the structure.
  • Clean and maintain painting and coating equipment, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow safety regulations and conform to all safety guidelines.
  • Work in a team environment to reach common goals.
  • Read and understand work instructions and mechanical blueprints.
  • Safely operate fork trucks while loading and unloading.
  • Comply with CPM safety policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
