Senior Mechanical Technician Senior Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing technical tasks in support of the operation and maintenance of utility systems, Fab support equipment, building maintenance or chemical and gas delivery equipment. Activities include review of construction, design, and specification documentation, the startup and operation of facilities, mechanical, chemical, waste and electrical systems. In addition, performs general maintenance and repair as required, and monitors for equipment efficiencies. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines. Essential Functions: Normally receives minimal supervision unless a major incident occurs Receives some direction from Master Technician/TRs/Supervisors to prioritize non-routine daily tasks and/or projects Identifies new assignment/projects based on the need of the department Must have expert understanding of equipment/processes Should demonstrate a deep level adaptability and the ability to change priorities based on the business needs May provide mentoring to other non-exempt personnel May provide technical training to the department or organization Has advanced understanding the SOPs Works on advanced assignment that require a considerable amount of judgment and initiative Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues, identify problems and manage solutions. Systems and equipment include but are not limited to: Industrial Waste Treatment equipment. Performs preventive, corrective and condition based maintenance to maximize mechanical equipment uptime across facilities utilities system. Mechanical equipment include but are not limited to: Pumps, blower, clarifiers, valves, tanks, center hung fans, mixers, and gear boxes. Use root cause analysis tools to identify permanent solutions for recurrence failures causing equipment downtime. Provide technical support during commissioning and start up for new instrumentation equipment, installation, configuration and calibration. Understands interactions with other departments in activities such as maintenance scheduling Identifies areas of business process improvement opportunities and provides input with solutions Interprets issues/questions regarding schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans Interact actively with stakeholders and departments on work planning and coordination Mentors/trains lower-level technicians. Document all work order and calibration systems. Develop and maintain SOPs using technical expertise and in conformance with standards Decide which type of maintenance is needed, selects parts for replacement Participate in cross functional teams may conduct and/or oversee routine inspections and investigations Interprets complex data from equipment, processes etc. Applies knowledge of relevant best practices, state and local code in area expertise Adhere and enforce safety rules, follow procedures and guidelines Support plant operation during off-hours as needed The role involves extensive use of computers for data entry, documentation, analysis, and internal communication. Candidates must be comfortable and proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.) and able to learn new office applications quickly. Familiarity with enterprise CMMS (ComputerâAided Maintenance Management System) software and Confluence is required for daily task management, issue tracking, and collaboration.
