About The Position

The Industrial Mechanic/Millwright is a journey-level professional responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling the complex mechanical systems and machinery critical to our mail-order pharmacy operations. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency of high-speed automation, conveyor systems, and facilities equipment. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who works safely and efficiently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Completion of a recognized Millwright or Industrial Mechanic apprenticeship program is required.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Journeyman Millwright or Industrial Mechanic in an industrial, manufacturing, or distribution setting.
  • Basic English with the ability to read and write.
  • Ability to diagnose root causes of mechanical failures and implement effective, long-term solutions.
  • Mastery in laser shaft alignment, leveling, and setting machinery to precise tolerances.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, seals, lubrication, drives, couplings, and pneumatics/hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in machining (turning, milling, drilling) and welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) to create and repair parts.
  • A proven track record of working safely in an industrial environment and a thorough understanding of LOTO procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively to emergency breakdowns.

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or other cGMP-regulated industry is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical failures on a wide range of equipment, including packaging machinery, conveyor systems, sorters, and facilities equipment.
  • Execute precision installation, alignment, and leveling of new machinery and equipment using laser alignment tools, levels, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance tasks, including vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and oil analysis, to identify and address issues before they cause failures.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex mechanical components such as gearboxes, ball screws, power transmission systems, pumps, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Read and interpret complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, as well as engineering blueprints and layout drawings.
  • Fabricate and modify parts and components using machining tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders, and welding equipment as needed.
  • Rig, lift, and move heavy machinery and components safely, following all rigging and hoisting protocols.
  • Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent accurately in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Collaborate with operators, electricians, and engineers to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety standards.
