Industrial Mechanic II (Water/Wastewater)
About The Position
As a Mechanic II, you will support the safe, reliable operation of municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities in Walla Walla, WA. Responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, machinery, and equipment; troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, valves, and control systems; installing and setting up new equipment; and maintaining accurate maintenance records. Additional duties may include basic plumbing, pipe fitting, welding, and facility upkeep. Above all, you will follow all safety procedures to ensure the health and well-being of yourself and your team.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, aerial/boom lifts, and electrical safety practices
- Experience with motors and motor controls, VFDs, and PLC/BMS systems
- Ability to read complex wiring diagrams, identify electrical components, and troubleshoot control circuits
- Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment (voltmeters, amp meters, ohm meters, meggers, amp probes)
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code, local codes, and safety regulations; able to properly use PPE and arc flash protection during live troubleshooting
