About The Position

Owens Corning, global in scope - human in scale. We’re an international company, with solid roots in Irving, and we have opportunities for a dynamic person to join our local team. This position is part of the Irving’s Plant Maintenance Team and plays a role in improving overall reliability and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment. This opportunity is critical to the performance and continued growth of our Roofing plant. Here’s a brief outline of this role… • Installs, modifies, or maintains plant equipment and assists in determining appropriate methods to accomplish these tasks. • Inspects plant equipment to identify potential problems prior to breakdown occurrences. • Ability to precision align belts, gears or direct coupled shafts using proper tools to specified tolerances. • Answer line calls in a prompt manner and carry required tools to complete work safety and efficiently • Complete scheduled jobs and work orders as assigned • Assist during process upsets as needed. • Participate in safety and plant trainings. • Participating in Root Cause Analysis and TPM meetings

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 Years Old
  • Experience with: Thinking under pressure, making quick and strategic decisions
  • Experience with: Working independently, as well as part of a team, and have shift flexibility
  • Experience with: Show initiative, be a self-starter, and be able to train and coach others
  • Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
  • Operate a computer, learn SAP and Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Lubrication principles and bearing tolerances
  • Ability to take and score at an acceptable level on a Maintenance Skill Test
  • Hydraulic systems, pumps, motor control, power circuitry, PLC’s and welding
  • Stand for 10-12 hours straight
  • Able to ascend and descend stairs/ladders as needed for the role
  • Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee and squatting, push and pull 40 pounds)
  • Exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable; and outside weather as needed
