About The Position

Apply specialized knowledge of mechanical engineering to prepare plans and design methods to improve efficiency in production and work to improve mechanical equipment availability and capability by utilizing continuous improvement tools and working cross-functionally. Utilize Problem Solving and Improvement approaches, including understanding of tools/process type and selection, plus Corrective and Preventive Action processes in order to lead problem solving efforts that involve a variety of problem-solving tools including 7-step, FMEA and Kaizen. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements and develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operations of product designs. Evaluate routine work activities in relation to product demand rate in order to recommend processes for efficient product delivery using line balancing analysis. Utilize specialized knowledge of how machines operate and the interface of the shop floor control system to the plant’s Manufacturing Execution System in order to suggest and implement improvements. Develop process layouts which encompass all equipment, tooling and material flows to provide an effective Product Assembly process using AutoCAD. Utilize experience with Workstation Design to design operator stations while taking into consideration anthropometrics, ergonomics, safety standards, and office layout guidelines. Perform ergonomic analysis and assessments and make necessary changes or modifications based on the results in order to improve the ergonomics of a workstations. Quantify and evaluate the elements of work that make up a process by breaking it down into detailed steps to identify and reduce waste, and redistribute work content to optimize process flows applying knowledge of work measurement studies. Be concerned with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of materials, information, equipment, and energy and utilize specialized knowledge of principles and methods of mechanical and manufacturing engineering analysis and design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems. Efficiently apply project management and manufacturing techniques to Process Design, Quality Control, and Manufacturing Processes projects. Mentor and coach junior engineers.
