About The Position

As a Utility Technician, you will promote workplace efficiency and profitability by assisting with the maintenance, inspection and repair of facility, equipment and machinery.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to perform the accountabilities listed in the “What You’ll Do” Section.
  • Ability to comply with dress code requirements.
  • Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and basic computer operation.
  • Ability to operate and communicate on multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance and meet scheduling requirements as set by the company.
  • Ability to learn and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to receive, understand and proactively respond to direction from leadership and other company personnel.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively and appropriately with others.
  • Ability to maintain composure and work in a fast paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete company training programs
  • Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating, preparing reports, etc.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and monitor activities across business units.
  • Ability to complete or oversee the completion of assigned projects in a timely manner.
  • Perform work in accordance with the Physical Requirements section.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally over 50 lbs. with a two person lift.
  • Ability to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, reach, lift, grasp, push and pull on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift (at least 9 hours).
  • Ability to visually verify information and locate and inspect merchandise.
  • Ability to comply with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair equipment and machinery
  • Monitor equipment and machinery, stocking, changing and filling as needed
  • Complete daily cleaning checklist for all equipment and machinery
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot equipment and machinery
  • Monitor baler status and create bales, as needed
  • Assist with clearing jams on conveyor lines with use of power equipment
  • Operate power equipment to unload, move and load product and bales
  • Operate and maintain battery changer and water for batteries
  • Remove trash and recycling materials
  • Paint, change light bulbs and work on the processing floor, as needed
  • Fill part requests for Maintenance Technicians
  • Assist on repairs, preventative maintenance and completion of minor projects
  • Replace rollers and clean labels in all areas including but not limited to P&A machines, guide rails and floors
