About The Position

Southeastern Community College's Center for Business (CBIZ) is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Industrial Maintenance Training Instructor/Coordinator to lead the development, coordination, and delivery of non-credit workforce training programs. This position plays a critical role in supporting our mission to meet the evolving needs of industry partners, individuals, and the community through high-quality, responsive training in advanced manufacturing and industrial technologies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in industrial maintenance and mechanical systems, coupled with instructional expertise and a passion for workforce development. This role combines hands-on training delivery with program development and strategic collaboration, contributing directly to economic growth and workforce upskilling in the region.

Requirements

  • AAS degree in Industrial Maintenance, B.A. Preferred, and or 3 years (6000) hours of recent and relevant work experience
  • Proven success in designing and delivering workforce training programs using adult learning principles
  • Industrial Maintenance Certifications for plant operation and maintenance preferred
  • Demonstrated competency and a comprehensive understanding of industrial maintenance and mechanical systems, along with experience in program administration
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in team settings and manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn SCC systems (e.g., Ellucian); familiarity with Canvas or similar platforms
  • Ability to conduct research and environmental scans to support program planning
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customized and general non-credit workforce training in areas such as Industrial Technology, Environmental & Industry Safety, and Advanced Manufacturing
  • Design, evaluate, and revise curriculum and teaching materials based on industry standards and adult learning principles
  • Partner with SCC instructors to leverage their subject matter expertise and develop credit-to-noncredit pathways, including apprenticeship programs and other innovative models
  • Identify and develop new programs and courses based on industry demand and emerging trends
  • Plan, schedule, and implement training programs in partnership with sales, marketing, and operations staff
  • Assess the educational and training needs of businesses
  • Recruit, hire, orient, and evaluate adjunct instructors
  • Manage cohort programs
  • Evaluate existing curriculum and redesign for customized delivery to area workforce
  • Grow offerings of non-credit to credit career pathways for participants
  • Continually evaluate training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed
  • Maintain course databases and documentation, including program quality standards and annual plans
  • Collaborate with CBIZ Sales & Marketing to execute targeted marketing strategies for key programs
  • Administer online training MIS System
  • Track and manage budgets for contract training
  • Travel regionally and occasionally out of state for training delivery and client engagement
  • Act as point of contact for large, non-credit industry training programs including but not limited to an industrial maintenance program
  • Serve on college committees as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Learn and apply SCC policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with the mission of a community college
  • Work as a contributing member of a team with minimal supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned
