The Industrial Maintenance Technician (IMT) is a proactive team member responsible for performing plant maintenance under the direction of the Industrial Maintenance Manager/Plant Manager or their designee. This role ensures that employee health and safety, product safety, and environmental protection are never compromised, while enhancing product quality, plant performance, and business priorities. The IMT adheres to all health and safety policies and directives and maintains a clean, safe work area. Key duties include diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures in various plant manufacturing equipment such as conveyers, process pallet handling machines, dismantling, painting, and stenciling systems. The IMT will also assist with, and at times be responsible for, hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electric systems, as well as process hand tools like pneumatic or electric reciprocating saws and nail guns. Accurate and timely documentation of performance and processes, including scheduling, executing, and documenting work orders within the corporate Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), is essential. The IMT participates in health and safety programs, including council or committee meetings, OSHA and corporate mandated training, certification, and recertification, and completes all assigned training programs.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays with on-call availability when needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for up to 12 hours and lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to negotiate stairs, ladders, and tight spaces.
  • Ability to use fine motor skills such as twist, grasp, turn, etc. small and difficult to reach objects.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in an Industrial, Automotive, Logistics or similar environment.
  • History of effectively working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated success handling multiple high priority tasks, in addition to normal responsibilities.
  • General Basic ability to use common mechanics tools.
  • Familiarity with MS office and internet applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to use an electrical Multi-meter for troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Perform proactive and reactive maintenance activities with a multi-skilled approach, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Support the site’s reliability initiatives by identifying failure modes, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to improve equipment performance.
  • Assist in scheduling and executing maintenance tasks, ensuring proper documentation of work orders and tasks to maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve maintenance processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and contributing to overall plant performance.
  • Conduct risk assessments for all tasks using site-specific or dynamic risk assessment procedures to ensure the safety of both equipment and personnel.
  • Prioritize employee health and safety, product quality, and environmental protection in all maintenance activities, ensuring all efforts contribute to improved plant performance and reliability.
  • Perform plant maintenance under the direction of the Industrial Maintenance Manager/Plant Manager or their designee.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and directives and maintain a clean safe work area.
  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures in all plant manufacturing equipment, including conveyers, process pallet handling machines, dismantling, painting and stenciling systems.
  • Assist with and, at times, be responsible for hands on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electric systems.
  • Assist with and at times will be responsible for hands on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all process hand tools, such as pneumatic or electric reciprocating saws and nail guns.
  • Accurately and timely document performance and processes as required by local and regional leadership.
  • Assist with and at times will be responsible for scheduling, executing and properly documenting work orders within the corporate Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Schedule, execute and properly document all assigned work orders and tasks.
  • Participate in health and safety programs including council or committee meetings, OSHA and corporate mandated training, certification and recertification.
  • Complete training programs as assigned.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
