About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment in a commercial laundry/industrial facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and continuous monitoring of assigned systems during production operations. The technician works independently and collaboratively to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient plant operations.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of industrial or plant maintenance experience preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of overall plant maintenance, including but not limited to electrical systems, boilers, hydraulics, compressed air, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, as well as mechanical and plumbing blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and solid communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or assisting with installation of new equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor assigned production equipment and systems during operations to identify potential issues and initiate corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components, including belts, bearings, drives, jams, ironer tape, overhead rail systems, and conveyor systems.
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and emergent maintenance needs during production.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documenting completed work, unresolved issues, and follow-up actions.
  • Communicate equipment status, downtime, and repair timelines to Production Supervisors and Engineering as needed.
  • Assist engineering staff, maintenance team members, and outside vendors with technical and mechanical work.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and working on energized or hot equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support plant safety standards.
  • Perform additional maintenance or operational duties as assigned.
