About The Position

The Maintenance Associate position involves performing scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery, correcting problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical components, and PLCs. The role requires maintaining specified production and spare equipment, performing basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations, and operating motorized equipment. The associate will also perform grounds and facilities repairs, interact with vendors, and ensure accuracy and safety in all operations.

Requirements

  • High school graduate/GED.
  • Minimum of two years of maintenance experience, at least one year in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation.
  • Knowledge of basic carpentry and tooling.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 86lbs on a continual basis and team lift 87 to 100lbs.
  • Ability to work well with others and with limited supervision.
  • Skilled in working with hand and electrical tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with on-the-job training.
  • Correctable hearing and eyesight.
  • Ability to pass colorblindness test.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery.
  • Correct problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical components, and PLCs.
  • Maintain specified production and spare equipment.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations.
  • Operate and assist in maintaining motorized equipment.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex grounds/facilities repairs.
  • Interact with vendors to complete projects or to repair equipment.
  • Diagnose root cause of problems and correct issues with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Perform routine, predictive, and preventive maintenance on all machinery.
  • Maintain and repair motorized equipment.
  • Operate manlifts and forklifts; transport heavy parts and equipment.
  • Identify needed parts to repair equipment and facility.
  • Complete required paperwork to order new parts and track existing parts.
  • Coordinate maintenance of parts inventory with MRO and purchasing personnel.
  • Maintain grinders and associated blowers; adjust and sharpen blades.
  • Fabricate metal parts and perform welding as required.
  • Maintain work logs as required.
  • Train other Maintenance Associates and plant associates on equipment and procedures.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies as needed.
  • Attend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings.
