About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to perform maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment located within a water, wastewater, pump & lift stations and treatment facilities working under direct supervision of the Industrial Tech. Maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience in construction, maintenance, electrical, electronics, process control wastewater monitoring, and/or compliance activities.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Industrial Technician Maintenance staff in their daily work schedule which may include attending pre-construction meetings and recommending changes in water/wastewater facilities mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoots problems and recommends corrective actions based on skilled knowledge of mechanical repair practices.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and corrective repair work on water/wastewater facilities and equipment.
  • Fabricates and machines repair parts for equipment.
  • Welds steel, brass and aluminum.
  • Operates lathes, mill/drill presses, welders and various other metal working power and hand tools.
  • Locates leaks and detects defects in water/wastewater equipment and machinery according to established plans and standards.
  • Monitors, reviews and validates work practices for quality control of processes and to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Inputs and gathers data from Supervisory Control Data Acquisition system (SCADA) and runs reports as necessary.
