We're Hiring: Industrial Maintenance Technician South Bend, IN | $28 per hour | 1st Shift Join our team as an Industrial Maintenance Technician and bring your electrical and mechanical expertise to a clean, safe, and well-organized facility.   • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery and equipment, and perform timely repairs.
  • Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct facility and building maintenance, perform minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
  • Coordinate and make recommendations for work-related contracts and services.
  • Supervise outside contractors for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
  • Support and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives.
  • Complete all duties safely, wearing required PPE, and avoiding unsafe conditions for self and others.
  • Assist with additional operational tasks as requested by supervisors or managers.
  • This is a hands-on position working directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
  • Adhere to all TKMNA Employee Attributes and Competencies.
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Formal degree or certificate in a technical area or related field (required)
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to perform duties independently with little or no supervision
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Basic English reading, writing, and math skills
  • Proficient with basic computer functions for data entry
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools such as tape measures, scales, and gauges
  • Must obtain and maintain certification to operate material handling equipment (forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, cherry picker)
