About The Position

The Engineering Operator performs a full range of maintenance/engineering assignments using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific situations. This role involves repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, interpreting schematics, and performing preventive maintenance on various systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Previous safety experience required (i.e. LOTO).
  • Knowledge of electrical components (i.e. high/low voltage, motors).
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional post-secondary education (i.e.: Technical or Vocational education) in areas of industrial engineering.
  • Industrial electricity courses, welding, PLC, pneumatic or other mechanic courses.
  • OSHA 10 to 30-hour training.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot and repair fluid and flow systems.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Start devices to test their performance.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Set up and operate metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Requisition supplies, materials, tools, and machine parts.
  • Repair electrical equipment.
  • Perform bearing analysis and installation.
  • Weld various types of metal to repair or fabricate metal assemblies.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on uninterrupted power supply systems, generators, and air compressors.
  • Analyze electrical circuits and troubleshoot to the component level.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, calibrate, and adjust electrical/electronic system components.
