About The Position

You will gain real-world experience, mentorship from industry experts, and the chance to work on impactful projects. Colonial Terminals, Inc., (CTI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Colonial Group, Inc., is offering a full-time Mechanical Engineering internship opportunity at our Savannah, Georgia, terminals during the summer months. The student intern will gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced professionals to support key plant operations. Responsibilities include collecting and organizing Preventative Maintenance and System data, working with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), updating plant layout drawings in AutoCAD, managing inventory, and gaining practical knowledge of maintaining bulk liquid and dry material handling systems. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Sharepoint, and Outlook, strong organization and time management skills, and effective communication, collaboration, and basic technical skills. The internship experience will conclude with a Leadership Luncheon, where all interns present what they’ve learned over the summer to the Senior Leadership Team of Colonial Group, Inc.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or associate’s degree program at an accredited college or trade school OR recent graduate (within 6 months).
  • The ability to commute daily to our Savannah, Georgia terminals.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Sharepoint, and Outlook
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and basic technical skills

Responsibilities
