About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Provides maintenance on plant electrical, mechanical, and other systems, plus general maintenance, with limited supervision. Initiate and complete work orders using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery Install or replace machinery and equipment. Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment Participate in production changeovers and adjustments Record repairs and maintenance performed Test machines to confirm the presence or absence of issues, making recommendations for continued operation based on the results Tear down, clean and rebuild equipment on a daily basis to ensure compliance with general safety requirements Use resources available to minimize downtime and maximize running efficiency Transfer tools, parts, equipment and supplies to and from workstations and other areas Assist in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors. Evaluate the efficiency of each machine, making recommendations for practices or upgrades to improve output rates without compromising operator safety Demonstrate the correct operation practices to employees who are making mistakes, and train new recruits to operate the machinery safely Follow all applicable rules and procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Arc Flash, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other related programs. Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions Maintain daily machine and equipment cleanliness (5S) along with following preventative maintenance standards Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with co-workers, customers, and management. Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair and maintenance including electrical/PLC
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pneumatics, electrical, and control systems.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in industrial mechanics
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving to identify solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Must possess strong team skills with the ability to promote clear and thorough communication both written and oral as well as through electronic means.
  • Pro-active, multi-tasked, self-motivated team player and positive attitude is a must.
  • Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
  • Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment, 90+ degrees
