About The Position

Ready Foods is a family-owned, medium-sized company with nearly fifty years of manufacturing experience in an industrial food manufacturing facility. They are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic who shares their commitment to people and strong company culture that promotes inclusion and respect. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for addressing a variety of challenges and performing associated maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment. This role is more of an industrial maintenance technician who will self-perform or assist other technicians with advanced repairs throughout the campus, working under minimal supervision and having some contact with external suppliers and customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be flexible on duties and schedule
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform work at heights using fall protection gear
  • Ability to bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
  • Ability to frequently lift or move a variety of objects up to 75 pounds
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write basic reports and customer request documents such as work orders

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
  • 2+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls
  • 2+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, and industrial electronics
  • 2+ years of experience conducting preventative maintenance
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field

Responsibilities

  • Intermediate understanding of PLC’s, ability to access program for troubleshooting purposes (would not be expected to program PLC's)
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor pneumatic and hydraulic problems
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical pumps, motors, heaters, piping systems, water systems, and steam systems
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on general manufacturing equipment such as starters, start/stop stations, motors (up to 480V)
  • Experienced in programable firmware, AC and DC electrical systems, analog and digital display units
  • Test performance of robotic assemblies
  • Evaluate efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems, reprogramming calibrating to achieve maximum quantity and quality
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
