As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for General Maintenance level openings. Leveling (pay) is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.

  • Diagnose and repair pneumatic control systems and pneumatically activated systems.
  • Replace, rebuild, and repair pneumatic lift cylinders, airline hoses, fittings, and gauges.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and/or rebuild hydraulic motors, filters, pumps, valves, hoses, and hydraulic lift cylinders.
  • Handle high-pressure systems with expertise, whether in operation or during major repairs.
  • Install heater connections, hydraulic oil coolers, temperature and oil pressure senders.
  • Identify and repair basic problems in electrical control circuitry or refer to an electrician.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform various tasks as assigned by your supervisor or management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance in a manufacturing setting documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 3 years).
  • Must have knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems; ability to read elementary wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics.
  • Use shop mathematics with trade knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic operations and repair.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.
  • Meet the physical demands of an industrial mechanic.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Lift 70 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Work on your feet for 12 hours.
  • Climb ladders and work in tight spaces.
  • Work at heights up to 50 feet above the floor surface.
  • Work in a cold, damp to hot environment.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach as required.
