As a team member, the Manufacturing Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs high-volume food manufacturing equipment. They prioritize personnel and food safety at all times. Our Mechanics are multi-craft mechanics; they work on everything from facility maintenance to our production equipment. Our ideal candidate will have a variety of mechanical and electrical skillsets. Ideal Mechanic Candidates Will Often A Combination Of These Backgrounds/Skillsets: Mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting (does not have to be food related) Mechanics that have both electrical and mechanical experience Strong electrical troubleshooting skills Proficiency with Allen Bradley product line

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Must have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have an understanding of electric motors, starters, switches, photo cells, etc.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Familiarity with CMMS work order systems
  • Food manufacturing background a plus with an understanding of FDA requirements
  • Must have good attention to detail. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Should be able to understand blueprints and drawings
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts
  • Must be able to make decisions
  • Should have a working knowledge of the following: Welding, Machining, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Electricity
  • Must be able to work around very strong magnets
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English

Nice To Haves

  • Food manufacturing background a plus with an understanding of FDA requirements

Responsibilities

  • Respond and react to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Complete maintenance projects - PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
  • Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
  • Write parts requests, complete work orders, and write corrective work orders
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Keep a clean work area
  • Perform building inspections and routines
  • Communicate with other team members
  • Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary
