About The Position

This Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Key duties include keeping machinery operational for continuous production, repairing and maintaining equipment, and resolving day-to-day operational problems. The role involves working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, general mechanics, and some welding. Responsibilities also include setting up, adjusting, and disassembling production line machinery, completing daily documentation, and ensuring compliance with all safety and food safety regulations, including USDA guidelines.   • Willingness and ability to climb up and down stairs to get to/from work areas, work at elevated levels, various heights, and in confined spaces, as applicable.
  • Willingness and ability to stand, walk, and perform job up to 10-12 hours/day, with appropriate breaks.
  • Willingness and ability to bend, stoop, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach above, below, and across at shoulder level.
  • Willingness and ability to flex/grip with wrists/hands and use maintenance tools.
  • Must be on an “active” employment status (for internal applicants).
  • Must not exceed more than 4 attendance points at the time of application (for internal applicants).
  • Must not have received a written warning in the past six (6) months or a written warning with suspension in the past 12 months from the date of application (for internal applicants).
  • At least one (1) year of mechanic work experience.
  • Internal applicants must ensure their current and past work/job experience is included on the application with relevant experience specified.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting problems that occur in the day-to-day operation of the facility.
  • Performing work involving hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanics in general, as well as some welding.
  • Setting up, adjusting, and breaking down production line machinery.
  • Completing daily documentation, as required.
  • Ensuring personal safety and food safety.
  • Complying with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reporting known or suspected violations.
  • Attending monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT).
  • Using basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and complete training.

  • Recording information using company-provided forms and procedures.
