About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Trainee supports the maintenance team in a fast paced food production facility. This role focuses on learning how to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment used in processing, packaging, and handling food products. Trainees work under experienced mechanics while developing skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems — all within a highly regulated, safety driven environment.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices.
  • Willingness to learn in a regulated, safety focused environment.
  • Ability to work in environments with temperature variations (cold rooms, Freezers, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and Verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on foodprocessing equipment such as conveyors, mixers, ovens, slicers, fillers, pumps, and packaging machinery.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using proper tools and testing
  • Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and ensure consistent production flow.
  • Help with equipment changeovers, adjustments, and calibrations to meet production
  • Follow strict food safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
  • Participate in lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized to meet sanitation and audit requirements.
  • Engage in ongoing training to build technical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Should perform all other duties as requested.
