About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic works under the general supervision of the Industrial Maintenance Supervisor in a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards. This role supports production and quality by ensuring the safe and reliable operation of machinery, mechanical equipment, and plant utilities. Mechanic progression is supported through demonstrated fluency on assigned equipment, with eligibility for advancement to Mechanic II.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited trade school or a combined 24 months of relevant education and experience
  • Entry-level: 0–2 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, or automotive environments
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical, drug screen, and physical capabilities test
  • Basic mechanical and electrical concepts
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Machine diagnostics
  • Mathematics and English comprehension
  • Safety policies, health standards, and environmental regulations
  • Fabrication of repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventories
  • Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts related to manufacturing equipment
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and service manuals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organization, self‑motivation, and willingness to learn
  • Work in extreme hot and cold environments (up to 120°F)
  • Lift up to 55 pounds and safely operate a forklift
  • Follow established policies and procedures
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Operate and maintain a wide variety of maintenance tools and equipment
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity, flexibility, and perceptual speed
  • Adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and schematics
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and approved shop equipment
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and basic lifting devices such as chain hoists

Responsibilities

  • Perform general plant maintenance, including corrective and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Conduct equipment repair, electrical work, plumbing, and mechanical servicing
  • Service, replace, or rebuild:
  • Pumps and valves
  • Process tanks and piping
  • Mixers, agitators, and mills
  • Plant utilities such as water purification systems, steam generators, air compressors, cooling towers, and chillers
  • Electrical motors, devices, machine controls, guards, and safety systems
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management to support plant operations
