About The Position

Seeking a skilled maintenance technician with electrical training and experience for our Shelbyville, KY locations. Should be a strong trouble-shooter and ability to support and work with various teams. What You’ll Be Doing: Repairs and maintains buildings, machinery, and mechanical equipment, to include performing electrical functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 5 or more years’ experience in related industrial maintenance roles that includes familiarity with: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, welding/metal fabrication. Should have experience with manufacturing environment including maintenance tools and equipment. Specialized training or experience with electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulics.
  • Must have ability to: troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical or electronic equipment and components; read and understand electrical and machine schematics.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Computer skills – able to navigate various software, including manufacturing software and maintenance tracking systems.
  • US Person (meets ITAR/EAR requirements)
  • Must be able to work shift assigned and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or vocational training in industrial maintenance
  • Master Electrician License or similar and familiarity of NEMA standards and UL Listings practices desired.
  • Experience with bender, cutting and/or roll forming equipment
  • Project experience, such as new equipment installations

Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Repairs and maintains equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers’ specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Repairs and replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts.
  • May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Completes training on new and existing equipment.
  • May specialize in one or more of the following areas but would not be required to have specialized knowledge in all areas: mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, and hydraulics. In all cases would have general knowledge of all areas.
  • Comply with all quality and ISO standards and OSHA standards
  • Applies electrical knowledge to test electrical equipment and controls circuitry to determine causes of malfunction.
  • Assembles and tests of motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.
  • Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Must have to lock out tag out training and be able to train other technicians.
  • Must have a working knowledge of National Electrical Code regulations and an awareness of OSHA requirements. A familiarity with NEMA standards and UL Listings practices is desired.
