About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing service to the facility in order to ensure an efficient and effective operation and assist in keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of mechanic/maintenance work experience documented in work history section or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Must be willing to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to work with heights up to 70 feet off of the ground on occasion.
• Must be able to work in harsh environments for short periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing machine breakdowns while performing preventive maintenance and adjusting equipment.
• Maintaining accurate records on log sheets and in a computer-based system.
• Cleaning up area after tasks and assisting in keeping the shop clean and orderly.
• Checking out and accounting for parts used on the job.
• Filling out work notifications, PM reviews, and work order evaluations.
• Assisting Team Members while developing and maintaining positive professional relationships.
• Working a variable schedule and occasional holidays.
• Communicating with various departments on a regular basis.
• Performing any other work as assigned by supervisor.
• Complying with all safety, food safety, GMP, and SQF Requirements.
• Performing all positions of rotation, if applicable.
• Reading information relating to the job including work assignments, blueprints, equipment specifications, repair related information, etc.
• Performing basic math functions with the use of a calculator.
• Working with minimal supervision.
