What to Expect: As an Industrial Maintenance Electrician you will bring your expert knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and electronic equipment while applying strong knowledge of electrical safety for higher‑voltage systems. The position working with advanced manufacturing electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, performing accurate troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, coordinating essential safety procedures, and supporting the installation of new manufacturing equipment across the facility. Requirements

  • Arkansas Journeyman License (or Reciprocal State: OR, UT, MN, NM, CO & AK)
  • 4 years of minimum cumulative experience performing industrial work within manufacturing and/ or like industrial facilities
  • Must be able to read PLC ladder logic
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs minimum
  • At least four years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical, electronic, and material‑handling equipment, with strong cross‑training across all production facility systems.
  • Mastery of lockout/tagout procedures, OSHA compliance, and preventive maintenance practices, along with the ability to diagnose issues involving mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems—including PLCs, system control software, sensors, and drives.
  • Must read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and PLC ladder logic, and work confidently with AC/DC theory, three‑phase power, motor protection, and industrial electronics.
  • Mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, bearings, and alignment, as well as familiarity with welding fundamentals.
  • Adaptability, strong teamwork, the ability to mentor less experienced technicians, solid computer and organizational skills, and the physical capability to work at elevated heights or from lifts when required
  • All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to Caterpillar: Background Screening Drug Screening Post-Offer Medical Questionnaire (clearance from Corporate Medical)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience within a Caterpillar facility
  • Bring knowledge of electronics such as photo sensors, PLCs, remote I/Os, servo drives, and variable frequency drives
  • Bring mastery of all production facilities systems, including conveyors, robotic equipment, and industrial trucks
  • Ability to utilize all internal technical platforms for documentation, record keeping, and other

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair facility and production equipment that supports Caterpillar manufacturing, using a current Journeyman or Master Electrician license to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues up to 480v.
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Responding to service requests with minimal supervision
  • Diagnosing problems on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems while interpreting complex schematics.
  • Installing new manufacturing equipment
  • Coordinating and enforcing safety procedures such as lockout/tagout and proper lift operation
  • Maintaining accurate CMMS documentation
  • Mentoring Level I personnel, assigning tasks when appropriate
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to maximize equipment uptime
  • Operating and repairing material‑handling and assembly equipment
  • Identifying and correcting safety hazards
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
