You will be an Industrial Hygienist with our Space Waterton Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) team, supporting program development, oversight, and management. You will closely interface with other Space departments and functional ESH staff on multiple areas of engagement and cross-functional support of the business while driving continual improvement and innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain CIH in 6-12 months of joining team
  • Proven ability to identify hazards associated with processes and perform root cause analysis
  • Ability to identify an issue, provide solutions and communicate insights to customers and leadership on appropriate courses of action relative to employee safety and health
  • Experience with regulator engagement, response, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certified
  • Formal education in industrial hygiene principles
  • Chemical Stewardship experience
  • Industrial ventilation compliance management
  • Experience working with common, industry recognized, management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VPP, etc.
  • Experience recognizing and investigating the potential for health effects associated with chemical agents
  • Experience interpreting exposure monitoring results, develop appropriate recommendations to control exposures
  • Strong communication skills with an orientation to a positive customer experience
  • Lean process orientation with experience using lean six sigma tools or similar continuous improvement tools

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, recommend, and comply with OSHA, ACGIH, state/local regulations and company policies
  • Create and execute the site’s industrial hygiene sampling plan
  • Interpret exposure monitoring results, develop appropriate recommendations to control exposures
  • Recognize and investigate the potential for health effects associated with chemical agents
  • Manage chemical safety and industrial ventilation programs
  • Investigate close call/near-miss incidents for the facility
  • Conduct work area job hazard assessments
