Requirements

  • High school diploma or bachelors degree (preferred) in a related environmental or safety field, or equivalent education with additional relevant experience.
  • 02 years of experience as a TDSHS-Licensed Asbestos Building Inspector and Air Monitoring Technician/Project Monitor with NIOSH 582 Equivalency training.
  • Valid drivers license, ability to complete Drug-Alcohol Testing, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirator and safety harness.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct asbestos surveys, abatement observation, air and personal sampling, and air and visual clearances.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred but not required experience with additional environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring and testing activities.
  • Preferred but not required professional licenses and certifications, including TDSHS lead credentials, TDLR mold credentials, and 40-hr HAZWOPER.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, sampling equipment and protocols, Microsoft Office, technical/report writing skills, ability to travel locally up to 100% and regionally up to 50%, and willingness to be cross-trained in environmental disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and other hazardous materials surveys under supervision.
  • Provide asbestos and lead-based paint oversight during abatement activities.
  • Collect detailed field notes and photographs documenting site conditions and findings.
  • Prepare chain-of-custody documentation and record survey data on approved forms.
  • Create detailed sample location maps.
  • Compile, organize, and present data; prepare reports or portions of reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Use, calibrate, maintain, and manage standard and specialized sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Follow health and safety policies, maintain driving approval, and travel locally and regionally, including nights and weekends as required.
