About The Position

The Industrial Hygiene Specialist at the University of California Riverside is responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing programs, policies, and procedures related to the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of potential health and safety hazards. This role supports the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) objectives of the campus and may provide daily programmatic support or services. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• 4 - 7 years of related experience.
• Thorough knowledge/understanding of specific EH&S fields including related laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage projects within time and budget constraints.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certification in industrial hygiene or related field.
• Industrial Hygiene Related Certification.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and monitors environmental and safety programs, systems, procedures, and training in various fields including industrial hygiene, environmental health, pest control, occupational safety, ergonomics, laboratory safety, biosafety, controlled substances, environmental protection, fire safety, radiation safety, hazardous materials control, and hazardous waste management.
• Provides daily industrial hygiene and safety programmatic support or services.
• Contributes to the development of advanced concepts, standards, and techniques in support of EH&S and campus objectives and goals.
