About The Position

Nexeo HR is seeking a skilled Industrial Forklift Operator with a background in shipping and receiving to join our team in Lindon, UT. This role involves operating forklifts to move materials, inspecting products for quality, and performing various tasks related to shipping and receiving. The ideal candidate will have experience in the industrial sector and be comfortable working in extreme weather conditions.

Requirements

• Ability to work with wood and small hand tools such as tape measures, saws, drills, riveters, and nail guns.
• One (1) year experience operating an industrial forklift.
• Ability to bundle, crate, box, and wrap products to be shipped.
• One year experience in a Shipping/Receiving or Distribution position.
• Ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds frequently throughout a shift.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to read tags, bills of lading, and shipping and receiving papers.
• Must be knowledgeable about safe galvanizing practices including proper venting and hanging devices.
• Steel toe shoes and metatarsals required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts with the capacity to move up to 22,000 lbs. of material on and off of flatbed trailers.
• Inspect galvanized material to ensure it meets quality standards, reject material that does not meet quality standards, and coordinate special handling for this material.
• Read tags, bills of lading, and shipping and receiving papers.
• Move pieces of steel and other material up to 50 pounds by hand from different locations in the plant and yard.
• Operate small hand tools including tape measures, micrometers, saws, drills, riveters, and nail guns.
• Operate computer to enter product information and perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Stand 90% of a shift and work outside in extreme weather conditions.
• Communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner.
