Under direct supervision, the Firefighter/EMT trains for and participates in duties and related responsibilities of an emergency and/or hazardous nature in fire suppression and emergency operations in an industrial facility. Operates within the parameters of the client’s policies, procedures, and practices, with special emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Program, to functionally participate in all emergency response and training services in order to achieve the mission of Rural Metro Fire. Although firefighting and rescue work are the most difficult and responsible areas of activity, the major portion of time is spent drilling and studying methods, techniques, and organization, and in routine duties in the care and maintenance of customer property and equipment. This is considered a safety sensitive position and is subject to both, the Company’s and the Client’s Industrial Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing and follow-up testing.
