About The Position

Martin Marietta is looking for SAFE Industrial Electricians ready to start a new career with a LEADER in the industry and WORLD CLASS team! The Industrial Electrician's role is to safely maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant electrical equipment, as well as upkeep of records for sustaining quarry operations. This equipment ranges from small fractional horsepower motors to large medium voltage motors used to start mills and fans. This position will support Ready Mix Plants in the Beaumont, TX and surrounding area.

Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree in electrical or comparable experience preferred
  • Certified / licensed Electrician preferred
  • 5 years' experience in aggregates or similar industry desired
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Outstanding vendor relations skills (internal and external contractors)
  • Must be willing to be on call
  • Working knowledge of high voltage electrical systems required
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments and electrical construction tools
  • Experience with PLC's a plus
  • Valid Drivers License and Good Driving Record
  • Must have a clean DMV (no more than 1 point on record, no suspensions, failures to appear, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for rail operations
  • Troubleshoot AC / DC motor controls and drives
  • Will be working with up to 480v
  • Actively research potential upgrades and fine-tune existing operations to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting
  • Work closely with engineering group and outside contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects
  • Support corporate safety culture and perform duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
  • Lead by example on all MMM safety rules/procedures and MSHA compliance standards and ensure that all employees are following established safety policies and procedures
  • Encourage employees to participate in Guardian Angel activities
  • May be required to drive OTR and other plant locations
