About The Position

Under supervision of Ambulatory Leadership and the Medical Director, the Industrial Ergonomist will directly support the OneTGH Program by providing ergonomics and injury prevention services to occupational health clients. Will perform thorough job site assessments using standardized tools like the NIOSH lifting equation, REBA, RULA, and Snook tables to assess risk factors and suggest risk mitigation strategies. This role also entails contributing to the development and upkeep of the established ergonomic program for high-risk areas, which may involve statistical analysis, program evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives. The Industrial Ergonomist will also develop and facilitate onboarding, training, and coaching programs and provide first aid and triage in the field as needed according to physical protocols. Creates and delivers reporting to leadership based on areas of observation. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement. This role will be in support of TECO's injury prevention program and based at a Brandon TECO site. Travel to various TECO sites in the field will be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Ergonomics Or Bachelor's Degree Applied Science Or Bachelor's Degree Related Field
  • Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS I)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • CPR/AED Certification
  • Three (3) years of experience in ergonomics.
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal injury assessment and prevention interventions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various information technology systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think critically and apply sound judgement.
  • Ability to adapt and travel to diverse work environments.
  • Ability to perform first aid care and triage for musculoskeletal injuries.
