About The Position

The Industrial Ergonomics Specialist is responsible for maintaining and strengthening the On-site Injury Prevention, Ergonomics, and Safety Programs. This role involves evaluating job physical conditions, coaching, and treating employees, as well as providing on-site prevention services to facilitate a safe and effective stay at work and return to work following an injury or illness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Ergonomics, Human Factors, or a related academic field.
  • 2 years of experience in a related professional role (including but not limited to: ergonomist, health and safety, occupational therapy, motion analysis).
  • Certified by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association (ATC) Board of Certification.
  • Proven ability to effectively influence, build trust, interact and communicate with employees from all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent project management skills; able to prioritize multiple projects with little assistance and execute programs/projects from start to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to create/deliver compelling presentations of insights to all levels of audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees with chronic minor injuries and related disabilities to maintain performance.
  • Direct employees to appropriate wellness programs for injury and illness prevention.
  • Evaluate and prescribe job conditioning for flexibility, aerobic condition, and strength.
  • Partner with Safety, Health Services, and Human Resources for Injury Case Management.
  • Perform functional task analysis identifying the critical and essential physical requirements of jobs.
  • Provide prevention consultation to facilitate a safe and effective stay at work and return to work following an employee injury or illness.
  • Provide proactive, early intervention and occupational therapy solutions for at-risk individuals prior to injury.
  • Provide education, targeted instruction, and practical strategies to increase the employee's knowledge and problem-solving using injury/illness prevention and rehabilitation principles.
  • Serve as a consultative ergonomics expertise resource to internal business partners.
