Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to: read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance; apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions; deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Responsibilities

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Empties waste baskets; cleans floors, rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts all areas that are empty or cleared; replenishes bathroom supplies; washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Vacuums all entranceways daily and other carpet areas as needed; cleans screens and filters; operates a floor scrubber, cleans water fountains; replaces light bulbs.
• Polishes metalwork; transports trash and waste to disposal area; cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors; scrubs processing tanks and vats; applies floor dry material where necessary; picks up reusable scrap for salvage and stores in containers; picks up refuse from plant grounds and operates industrial truck to transport materials within plant.
• Starts pumps to force cleaning solution through production machinery, piping, or vats in an industrial setting; starts pumps to lubricate machines.
• Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Adheres to company/customer safety procedures.
• May replace air-conditioner filters and clean kitchen and/or lunchroom.
