The Industrial Engineering (IE) Technician reports directly to the Operations Planner. This position is responsible for but not limited to processing production orders, ECN’s, auditing all drawings, flat sheets and information received, reporting discrepancies, and assisting in preparations of various reports with the Production Control Department. The incumbent is also responsible for making time studies for use in developing standard data. The incumbent is responsible for creating CNC part programs for the burning and drilling equipment. This position works with people in the materials area including scheduling, shipping, outside finishers and the storeroom area while interfacing with marketing, engineering, purchasing, and operations. The incumbent should possess a basic understanding of production control techniques and procedures. He/she should be familiar with the manufacturing processes and have the capability of reading standard blueprints and flat sheets generated by engineering. The incumbent will obtain a working knowledge of AutoCAD drafting software and Quick-Cam parts processing software and a working knowledge of Visual Basic Programming while performing daily departmental duties.
