About The Position

As an Industrial Engineering Intern at United Launch Alliance you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to analyze data and processes. You will utilize Industrial Engineering methodologies to lead a project through objective and scope development, data gathering, analysis, improvement, and standardization. Responsibilities include performing data analysis, analysis methodology improvement projects, software improvement projects, trade studies, design for manufacturer studies, creating or modifying tool designs, processing cause and corrective actions for non-conformances, maintaining production work instructions, supplier management, and component or integrated systems test. You will support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of engineering. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns.

Requirements

  • Completed Sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
  • Minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application.
  • Valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama, California, Florida, or Pueblo, Colorado.
  • Actively pursuing a degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
  • Plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2026.
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2026.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering methodologies including statistical and process analysis, production and inventory control, material handling, and facility planning.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
